UNILAG DIPLOMA STUDENTS, DUBIOUS TACTICS YOU MUST AVOID
1. CALLING OF PARENTS/GUARDIANS FOR SCORES BOOSTING:
From my teaching experience over the years, this is never new. It happens in every admission year (even before the advent of JUPEB) where parents/guardians fall victims to this singular act. It is easy for us to garner all these feedbacks via our BARRYMATi TUTORIAL GROUPS and BBM CHANNEL (C004878E5).
This year alone, information has gotten to us that some unscrupulous entity has been calling parents to pay N150,000 into their account in order to boost their wards’ scores claiming they had poor performance in their JUPEB exams.
WARNING: DON’T FALL VICTIMS. These guys have their ways of getting your contacts then send bulk or customized SMS in this regards.
As this is a feedback from our UNILAG students, it is important I add this:
DO NOT BE DECEIVED. IT IS NOT FROM UNILAG
THE UNIVERSITY HAS ZERO-TOLERANCE FOR PAYMENTS TO UPGRADE SCORES/RESULTS. IN CASE YOU ARE APPROACHED FOR SUCH, PLEASE REPORT IT TO THE DEAN OF STUDENTS’ AFFAIRS DIVISION OR SECURITY UNIT.
I think I also need to use this medium to inform you that there are some BARRYMATi impostors. Get your authentic information from Matolysis (08030610997,07056017766) or Barrywhite (08062563480)
2. FAKE ADMISSION REPORTS:
Also, this is no longer news but it is painful people still ignorantly fall victims to this madness. Prospective Unilag Students get text messages sent to them by unknown persons notifying them that they have been given admission into the University of Lagos.
This is a scam. The message did not emanate from the University of Lagos.
Members of the public are advised to ignore this message as the University of Lagos does not send text messages to admitted candidates, and does not appoint anyone to this duty. The University website is the only authentic source of information on admissions.
3. ‘COOKED FAILURES’ FOR THOSE AWAITING JUPEB RESULTS.
The fall for this dubious move was massive.
Early October 2015, some statistics indicating that there was mass failure in Mathematics and Chemistry in the 2015 JUPEB Examinations was ascribed to one Head of National Office. The carriers of this message requested for money ‘to assist children/wards who have failed the 2015 JUPEB Examinations’. This move was calculated as it happened at the moment when aspirants were now impatiently waiting for their JUPEB results.
Warning: Candidates of JUPEB, parents/guardians, and members of general public are implored to note that: there is no iota of truth whatsoever in the requests for money ‘to assist children/wards who have failed the 2015 JUPEB Examinations’.
Please help share this article in order to save other parents/guardians and students from falling victims.
