HOW TO CALCULATE UNILAG AGGREGATE SCORE FOR ADMISSION.

The determining factors:

JAMB UTME score
POST-UTME score and
O’Level result

YOU MUST NOTE THE FOLLOWING:

1. UNILAG AGGREGATE SCORE is determined by & calculated with your: UTME score, POST-UTME score & O’level result grades

2. Your AGGREGATE SCORE will be used to determine your chance of admission (as your aggregate score must meet the the set CUT-OFF mark for the year).

3. CUT-OFF Marks are not fixed. They are determined by General performance of the year against the quota needed.

4. The cut off marks for all courses will be published weeks after the post UTME exams.

Max. AGGREGATE SCORE= 100%

UTME (50%)
POST-UTME (30%)
O'LEVEL (20%).

UTME (50%):

Achieved by dividing your UTME score by 8.

POST-UTME (30%):

No further computations needed here as UNILAG will express the POST-UTME result in 30% by default. The narrative changes if otherwise.

O'LEVEL (20%):

Achieved by the weighting subjects relevant to your course of study.
Of course, 20 divided by 5 is 4 (i.e 20÷5=4 ). This then implies that the maximum grade must be 4.0 (i.e grade A1= 4.0).

Hence:
GRADE
WEIGHT
A1
4.0
B2
3.6
B3
3.2
C4
2.8
C5
2.4
C6
2.0

Case Study:

Miss Jane who wants to study pharmacy scored
260/400 in UTME
25/30 in POST-UTME
HER O'LEVEL GRADES:
SUBJECT
GRADE
English
B2
Maths
B2
Biology
A1
Chemistry
B3
Physics
B2

Her calculated Weighted Scores:

UTME: 260÷8= 32.5
POST-UTME: = 25.0
O'LEVEL: = 18.0

AGGREGATE= 75.5
Say CUT-OFF mark for Pharmacy= 75.175
Then Jane will be admitted based on merit.

Let Us imagine this:

That Jane scored 24/30 instead of 25/30, this means her aggregate is shortened by 1 i.e new AGGREGATE is 74.5.
Of course, Jane cannot be admitted based on merit.
